Some large GeoReality models will be configured to only load a small subset of data (or perhaps no data at all) when initially run.
If so, Elements' data can be selectively loaded and then later unloaded to make memory space for other Elements' data.
Above is a GeoReality model with 2D seismic (430 lines) covering the whole of offshore New Zealand - but with no data initially loaded, only the line positions are visible.
These models, which can contain large available data sets, allow a subset of the data to be viewed in the 3D model at any particular time, taking into account the limited "memory budget" that a Web Browser possesses.
At the bottom left of the window, there is an indication of the memory budget (which itself can be varied in the Settings Menu) showing how much is currently occupied:
Elements in such a model have either the "download" (ringed in green) or "unload" (ringed in red) icons available:
You can download groups of elements at once by tagging them in the Element lists or using the Basemap display mode to drag over lines to tag them:
Once tagged, Elements can be downloaded or unloaded in bulk using the icons at the top of the tag list:
The View Settings Menu has a few functions to help sort out what you can see:
Depending on local conditions, approximately 100 Elements will fill the memory budget. If more elements are to be viewed, others need to be unloaded to make space. |
